About Lanzarote

The privileged geographical situation of the Canary Islands makes an ideal year round holiday destination, only 100 kilometres from the Sahara cost. UNSECO has declared Lanzarote a world biosphere reservation.

Lanzarote is very diverse with the golden sands of Papagayo to the black beach of El Golfo, as you continue inland you will find 900 square kilometres of solidified lava and a volcano which is still active today. The lava ash and sand from the volcano have made the land ideal for growing grapes which they do very successfully and many bodegas can be found.

Cesar Manrique was Lanzarotes most famous artist and architect, he has created some amazing art work but his biggest achievement is his ability to blend architectural elements into natural surroundings which are visible all over the island: Jameos del Agua, Jadin de Cactus, Mirador del Rio just to name a few.
